Welcome to the start of a new school year! I am excited to be back in the classroom and am looking forward to a great year of teaching and learning. My name is Amanda Anspaugh and I began my teaching career in 1999. This is my first year teaching for Northwest Community Schools, however I am not new to Mountie Nation. I was born and raised in Jackson where I married my high school sweetheart, Derek. We were both graduates of Northwest High School, Spring Arbor College, and together we are raising four beautiful children: Mallory (11) who is a 6th grader at Northwest Kidder Middle School, Ethan (9) who is in 5th grade at Northwest Elementary, Avery (6) who is a 2nd grader at Parnall, and Cole (3) who begins preschool this year. I previously taught in Jackson Public Schools the past 15 years, most recently at Jackson High School, however decided it was time to come home and be a part of the greatness here in Mountie Nation. We are currently in the process of moving back into the district and are excited to share the experiences we had as kids with our own children. I am very passionate about teaching and believe a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parents, child, and teacher. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. I truly believe students are all capable of succeeding if they put forth their BEST effort. With all of us working together this will be a very productive and enjoyable year. WE ARE NORTHWEST...GO MOUNTIES!
